This is Dan, of Bright Void Coffee Roasters — big shout-out to him. He took on the lion’s share of the shoveling out the Shops the last two days. Several other vendors did a lot too, but I did none, because of my stupid wrist and elbow, so I am particularly grateful to everyone who shoveled, and look, Dan even built a chonky snowman as he went.
We’re tentatively thinking he might do a ‘cupping’ workshop at the new storefront in January. When he first said cupping, I thought of the medical practice, but no, it’s like a wine-tasting, but for coffee. Sounds interesting! Locals, maybe a good gift for someone in your life who loves coffee? We’re hoping to finalize details this week, and have a registration page and gift certificates available next weekend, if all goes well. Also a cake decorating workshop, maybe a cookie decorating workshop, and an African beading workshop — details to be finalized soon. Watch this space!
All of that needs to wait, though — I have three urgent tasks this morning:
- go to the bank and deposit the weekend’s cash
- go to my landlord and drop off the December rent for the storefront (should ask them if it’s possible to pay electronically, but I think they’re not set up for that)
- write recommendation letters! The first of them is due at noon today.
Recommendation letters are something of a necessary evil, but at least I get to revisit the work of some of my best students and then tell people how great they are, so that’s not so bad….
