Folks, it was yummy.

Please ignore the slightly frozen smile on my face — I am very tired after last night’s event, and my selfie skills are not at their best! But I wanted to tell you about a lovely interaction at the Pleasant District festival last night — a young black man came up to me, and he was wearing one of my pendants! (Either the saffron thread or chili flake — it was dark enough I couldn’t see details.)

He said he’d bought it at Carnivore Oak Park, which also carries his Ruby hibiscus tea, and he wore it all the time. He wanted to give me a bottle as a gift, which was very sweet — I paid for it, feeling quite flush after doing very well at the festival last night. Also, it was hot, I was exhausted, the bottle was cold, and it frankly sounded like the best thing ever in that moment.

Folks, it was yummy. And nice to have a non-carbonated option — I like carbonation fine, but my daughter doesn’t, so I’m going to have to tell her about this.

I didn’t actually get his name, but I’m going to throw a link to the website in comments. Check it out!
