I’m thinking of setting up a sequence of classes in July. It’d look something like this — people could sign up for 1 class, or 2, or all 3.
Introduction to Floral Art
Class 1: Flower Preservation — learn how to dry flowers (and fruit!) from an event, from your garden, or from the store, in several different ways. We’ll discuss and demo flower presses, microwave presses, floral desiccant, and dehydrators. ($25, 60 minutes)
Sunday July 6, 10-11 a.m. (limit 10 participants)
Sunday July 6, 3-4 p.m. (limit 10 participants)
Class 2: Flower Collages — learn how to use dried flowers (your own, or those provided) to make beautiful greeting cards and canvas hanging art. We’ll also discuss decoupaging flowers on glass, pressing them between double-paned glass, and using them to decorate candles. Participants will leave with a greeting card and a collage, suitable for framing. ($25 + $10 supplies fee, 60 minutes.)
Sunday July 13, 10-11 a.m. (limit 10 participants)
Sunday July 13, 3-4 p.m. (limit 10 participants)
Class 3: Flowers in Resin — learn how to use dried flowers with UV resin to make your choice of barrettes, keychains, magnets, or bookmarks. We’ll also discuss two-part epoxy resin, and look at some examples of trays, bookends, and tables. Participants will leave with 2 items they’ve created. ($25 + $10 supplies fee, 60 minutes.)
