In theory, you’re supposed to prune your flowering shrubs and trees before they bloom, I think. But on the other hand, if you wait until they’ve started blooming, you can immediately bring the prunings in to fill vases…
Montmorency cherry — I planted this tree a little too close to the viburnum, so I’m pruning off some of the lower branches so they’re not jammed into each other.
