Resincrete pour. This took maybe an hour to pour, and takes perhaps 15-30 minutes to unmold and sand as needed, and most of a 3000 gram bag of resincrete (price ranges from $35 – $50). So let’s say about $25-$30 in supplies, and if I count my time at $50 / hr (which is what I usually use when I’m deciding whether it’s worth paying someone $25 / hr to do a task for me), this is about $100 in cost so far. Out of it, I’m hoping to get:
• one constellation candle jar ($25?)
• one ring of houses candle plate ($45?)
• three rosebud candle jars ($25 – $30 each)
• some random little houses ($2 each)
Add in a bit for the wax, the wicks, and the dried rose petals. Not counting the cost of tools (which get used for many many projects). Not counting the cost of rent for the shop. Not counting the cost of packaging for things that get shipped out (or counting the time to pack and ship them). Let’s ballpark all of that to $150 – $200 in costs.
Which means, I suspect, that I might break even, if I actually sell them all? Not a high profit margin here! Concrete is cheaper, I think. 🙂
Must finish writing a recommendation letter, then bath and bed. More photos and video tomorrow, hopefully, probably after teaching…
