We’re celebrating Christmas today, because we get on a plane early tomorrow. So ran out to the grocery store this morning, came back with supplies for the day.
We typically have fruit and coffee / tea first, then open stockings, then make and eat breakfast — it’s often bombatoast (the Sri Lankan version of French toast, where you put the sugar in the batter, and use regular sliced bread) with bacon; I’m adding some maple chicken sausage this year, see if the kids like it.
Tea now, stockings at 10. Stocking gifts are little things for us (like a little bit of interesting candy or dried fruit, or a mini tin of slime, or a set of colorful tattoo pens), and if you’re looking for that kind of gift locally, Pumpkin Moon (primarily for kids, lots of retro toys) and their sister store Scratch ‘n Sniff (for everyone, including pets) are perfect. We typically get almost all our stocking gifts there. Open 10-3 today, if you’re still looking for something small and cute / funny. 🙂
(Photo angle carefully chosen to avoid various piles of stuff. I like to get the whole house clean for Christmas, in theory, but it almost never happens. It’s okay.)
