I’m not having a holiday party this year, which I’m sort of bummed about, but I just COULDN’T manage it with the Shops and everything. I think next year, I need to plan further ahead, and make sure that I have coverage for a weekend in December so I can still host our party. I miss making trifle and fruitcake and roast beast sandwiches and Sri Lankan short eats.
We usually do a potluck with board games for New Year’s Day (need to send out invites, if you’re a local friend and want to be sure you get an invite, drop me a line), but maybe I’ll make one or two of those dishes, at least.
For now, though, I’m just looking wistfully at pretty food other people make…
