After the redwoods, we went down to Santa Cruz for lunch. We thought they might want to spend some time on the beach or the boardwalk (video game arcades, rides when the weather is nicer), but they seemed to have used up their expedition energy in the woods; they just wanted to eat and head back. Well, I walked down to the water for a bit, anyway, while they chilled out on their phones, waiting for our table to be ready.
Don’t know where that random dandelion came from, but doesn’t it make a great pic with the patterns on the wet sand?
Grilled mahi mahi at Ideal Bar & Grill (pricey, but very tasty, on a bed of coconut rice (not visible), with a spicy fruit salsa. Possibly my best meal this trip. Kev and Kavi also really liked their guacamole burger).
