So, I tried something new, growing broccoli rabe, and I basically threw the seeds in the soil and ignored them, occasionally watering when it was really hot and dry. I vaguely meant to go thin them at some point, but I did not actually do so. So at this point, advice? Should I thin these, or not bother? How do I know when it’s ready to harvest and use?
This is complicated by the fact that I grew this for my husband, because broccoli rabe is a little bitter for me; I can eat it, but I don’t seek it out. But Kevin loves it. So I don’t know it that well, and am feeling very unclear on the concept. Help?
