Okay, that didn’t last very long. The pinning, I mean. Weekend alterations project #4 — yes, more dress hemming. I just cut off 4 inches (using the stripe as a guide made it super-easy), rolled the hem and sewed it down. A bit of ironing flattened it out, whew — I didn’t really want that dramatic a hem. 
I just picked this dress up for under $20 at Trends; I do love secondhand clothes shopping for exactly this reason. I’d have trouble hacking into a brand new item I’d paid full price for, but with secondhand pieces, if I mangle it, it’s not so painful…
