I’ve been trying to shift to my normal early schedule again. It’s a little tricky, because it now means going to bed before my children, but it’s better for my mental health, for my ability to do morning yoga classes, for weeding before it gets too hot in the garden, and just suits me better. I am a lark, not an owl.
During the pandemic, my schedule shifted much later — I was regularly going to bed at 2 a.m., which was just weird for me.
This is our schedule now:
– I wake up at 6 a.m. (Anand is generally up by 7; Kavi and Kevin sleep as long as they can…)
As a reward for early rising today, I came downstairs and happened to notice that the sun actually does hit my kitchen window very briefly in the early morning. We put art glass in that window because there’s an apartment building just six feet or so away on the other side, and now ivy is curling around the edges of the window, and with the sun glancing off the leaves, it’s lovely.
U+ board meeting at 7:30, so I should go prep for that. That’s another plus to the early schedule; makes it easier to do international collaboration.
