This Works, I Think!

I used Spoonflower’s fill-a-yard with 42 squares to make a cheater quilt top from my brighter Starry Woods color ways, aiming for something that would make a cute quilt for a kid, and I’m happy with how the quilt top came out. Now I just have to sew it up — and find a kid to give it to. 🙂

Typically using fabric from independent designers is notably pricier than what you might find at Jo-Ann’s Fabric, but this isn’t too bad, I think — $25.20 + shipping for a yard of cotton, and you can use something inexpensive for the quilt backing, and then a bit of batting, and you’ve sewn a very cute and unique quilt for under $40.
