Ten Years Later, Finally Doing It

When Kavi and Anand were small, I longed for South Asian-inspired prints for their bedding, but aside from generic block prints, none were to be had. For this pattern, I began with an ancient Indian unicorn (found on a 3rd millennium Indus Valley seal), added a banyan tree, jasmine, a monkey, bananas, and a lucky betel leaf. Now I just wish I could go back in time and print them for my kids a decade ago…

(Wanting this kind of fabric to be available was actually what sparked my interest in fabric design. I used to read fabric design blogs, buy the authors’ how-to books, etc… Ten years later, I’m finally doing it…)
