Weird things happen when I write this late. I’m at the climax of this story, and I have to admit, I just shot one of my protagonists, and I totally didn’t know that was going to happen until I wrote the sentence. Subconscious, tricky tricky.
(Said protagonist may not *stay* shot, depending on what George has me do in the revision process, so I don’t think this quite constitutes a spoiler. Besides, it’ll be 3-5 years before this book comes out, so you’ll all have forgotten this by then.)
