“Mary Anne Mohanraj and Benjamin Rosenbaum planned an epic Summer 2020 US Road Trip to publicize their new books. Now it’s coronapocalypse time, and that road trip is going to have to be a podcast.
Join two old friends as they talk about science fiction, community, the writing life, teaching, parenting, and a whole lot more. Does Ben really think you should let your kids touch the stove, and did he really burn his son’s homework? Why did he write a novel with no men or women in it? What exactly did a young Mary Anne do to appall her aunts in college, and how did it lead circuitously to her founding science fiction’s longest-running webzine? Mohanraj and Rosenbaum… Are Humans? Yes, yes they are.”
We’re trying to raise $1500 in the next 30 days to cover the editing costs for the first season of 12 weekly episodes, a season we plan to launch January 2021. Ben and I have been recording all summer and fall, with Jed Hartman, former senior fiction editor at Strange Horizons, joining us for several writing / editing-focused episodes. It’s been tremendous fun. We plan to have lots of guests going forward — writers and editors and agents and just all around interesting people.
There’s a little trailer video at the link — check it out!

Kickstarter is all-or-nothing funding, so if we don’t make it to $1500 in 30 days, we don’t get any of the Kickstarter funds.
If you’re in a position to support the project, we’d love to have your support! We’d also greatly appreciate likes, comments, and shares, for greater visibility! Thanks so much!
