I’m pretty sure this is a native aster that’s starting to bloom — I’m not sure which one, but I think I purchased it from Prairie Moon. Maybe Smooth Blue Aster? It has a bigger, looser habit than my other asters, which I actually think I like better — sort of blowsy and generous, filling in empty spaces in the garden. It’s still mostly buds; I’ll try to remember to come back and post a photo when it’s fully bloomed, so you can see the full effect.
