Masks and a Whole Mess to Plant

I had a rough time sleeping last night (I have restless leg syndrome, and mostly it’s fine, but every once in a while it acts up, and last night was bad — usually a hot bath takes care of it, but it’s hard dragging your sleepy self from bed to bath, so I try to ignore it for a while, half-conscious, and that never works and eventually I have to get up at 2 a.m. and take a hot bath. Anyway…), so slow start today. I didn’t even come down ’til 10. KAVI beat me downstairs, which is pretty much unheard of; she was quite smug.

But so far, I’ve had breakfast, coffee, and meds, and worked on interesting and hopefully useful SLF stuff (more in next post) — next will be 20 minutes on the treadmill, and then sewing more masks. This set went out a few days ago (I love how the burnt orange bias tape looks with that space mask; hope the recipient does too), and I’m afraid I took a little bit of a break from sewing, but I’m back to it now, and hoping to finish a set of eight today.

I also have a whole mess of things to plant — the Oak Park Conservatory plant sale plants arrived on Wednesday, so I got to fill out my window boxes with their summer annuals, but that means I have a whole bunch of pansies that I pulled out that I need to do things with, and there are still gladioli to get in the ground in the front yard, and SO MANY things to do in the back yard. Onwards.
