I am drowning a little in mask patterns. Today I want to try making the Deaconness-style pleated mask, but with two elastics that go around the head instead of over the ears. If someone can tell me what lengths those elastics should be cut to, I would be forever grateful.
(I’ll be trying ones with fabric ties next, but doing elastics first, because this is a set going out to ICU nurses, and it seems like many of them (on very informal survey) prefer the ease of elastics.)

The masks we have are 8″ x 3″ sewn, and the elastics are also 8″ (possibly so they pack neatly – they’re from a box of masks we’ve had since late 2016).
