Am I coming to your city?

Am I coming to your city? I’m working on A Feast of Serendib book tour this morning (in partnership with Ben’s The Unravelling book tour). It’s complicated as heck, given Benjamin Rosenbaum and my schedules. Help?

Here’s a very very rough plan, and we would LOVE suggestions of specific places to read in these cities, fun ideas for food-related events there, locals willling to help round up attendees and get the word out, etc. To make this work, it’d really help to have a big team on the ground! Can you help make sure Ben and I aren’t reading to empty rooms??? I’d also love to talk to local book clubs, have cooking events in people’s homes, etc…

This doesn’t include Chicagoland events! This is just the travel portion. Ready?

BAY AREA: March 4-8
Fly into SFO after teaching on March 4, stay with Alex Gurevich in Marin that night
March 5 morning or afternoon events possible in Marin / Sausalito / San Francisco / Oakland / Berkeley
March 5-8 — honored guest at FogCon in Walnut Creek — FogCon responsibilities come first, but can possibly do other North / East Bay events — suggestions of bookstores, libraries, etc. very welcome!

ORLANDO: March 18 – 22
Fly into Orlando after teaching on March 18
March 19 – 22: attend ICFA, will likely be on one panel, maybe do a reading there, time TBD, try to schedule events in Orlando area — suggestions of bookstores, libraries, etc. very welcome!

BAY AREA: March 23 – 29
3/23 – 3/27: Visit Kevin’s family in the South Bay (with a mid-week visit up to Alex‘s family in Marin). Events could be scheduled 3/24-3/27 through South Bay and Peninsula — suggestions of bookstores, libraries, etc. very welcome!
3/28 — tentative plan for a launch party at Jed’s place in Mountain View for friends and fans; I’ll cook. . Ping if you’d like an invite and aren’t already on the party list, please.

AMSTERDAM: 4/8 – 4/13 (tentative)
Possibly in Amsterdam for Plurality University conference and Many Worlds Festival. If not, will try to hit one of the other major cities either this weekend or following weekend in April (Seattle, Los Angeles, Toronto, New York)

Attend WisCon and host party for SLF / Feast (Stephanie, we have to remember to put in a party request when that opens) — schedule other Madison events? Maybe A Room of One’s Own reading? — suggestions of bookstores, libraries, etc. very welcome!

HAWAII: June 19 – 28
Writing retreat in Kauai, (the town of Kilauea) Hawaii, but also can schedule events. See if Kate Elliott might be around and able to suggest possibilities? — suggestions of bookstores, libraries, etc. very welcome!
