Sweet

There may be something slightly compulsive about my need to make masses of sweets this holiday season. I don’t even particularly want to eat them — just feed them to other people. Therapy-through-baking? Cooking for others and writing fiction are the two things that have reliably been making me feel happy in the last week.

So far this season: rose-vanilla marshmallows, rich cake, milk toffee, love cake, lemon snowball truffles, reindeer peanut butter cookies, iced sugar cookies, white chocolate-cranberry cookies, shortbread, chai spice truffles, chili-coconut truffles. And I’m still planning on berry-pear trifle, white-chocolate-peppermint popcorn balls, lemon scones, and maybe mini cupcakes.
