More successful cooking…

More successful cooking experiment -- Sri Lankan Curried Steak in Coconut Milk. Rub thin flank steak with Sri Lankan curry powder. (I gather that letting it sit for a while at this point, possibly even wrapping it in plastic wrap and refrigerating it for a day, may improve the flavors, but I didn't do any of that, so just noting the possibility.) Slice onions and garlic, saute with mustard seed, cumin seed, curry leaves, salt. Slice steak into pieces as you would for fajitas, finger-length strips, cut against the grain. Stir steak into the onion mixture and fry for a few minutes. You could stop at this point and put it into sandwiches and it'd be delicious. You could also add chopped green chilies, if you wanted to amp up the heat. But I added half a can of coconut milk to make it creamy and delectable. So good. Serve with rice or naan or uppuma...
