Teaching for today: In…

Teaching for today: In SF/F writers of color, we have du Bois's "The Comet" (1920), Jewelle Gomez's "Chicago 1927", and the first bit of the WisCon Chronicles conversation on race -- and in my early American class, explorers Columbus, de las Casa, and Cabeza de Vaca. Sometimes I wish I could just mix the two classes and have them read it all together and then discuss it -- there are great resonances between today's readings. I do have one student who is taking both courses -- fun for her. Hopefully! :-)
