Dramatic illustration of limited willpower -- I had a bunch of urgent e-mail work to do this morning, and also children to watch, and a convention to go to, and a panel to run, and I did it all, and it all went well, I think, and some of it was even fun, but I got home to find that Kevin had made beef and potato curry and I just fell on it like a ravening horde. And THEN, without a moment's hesitation, ate the remaining half-pint of chocolate ice cream from the freezer. In theory, I still have exercise and writing to do today, and I may actually gather the willpower to do both, but if I'd tried to not eat that ice cream? I might have exploded.
