Okay, teaching statement drafted and sent to colleague for critique. It is TOO LONG. It is very hard to put together a one-page teaching statement covering both general philosophies and specific courses when you teach in three different disciplines. (Creative writing, literature, composition.) Especially when it should ideally make you sound erudite, awesome, and humble at the same time.
