Would you like to help…

Would you like to help me actually write my epic space opera this summer (featuring a mixed-race queer female heroine, whee!) AND support the best little science fiction workshop on the planet? Check out the Write-a-thon, which starts tomorrow!

(The other workshops are great too, but I was a student at Clarion West in 1997, so it will always have a special place in my heart.)

Look! I'm offering naming rights for a character!!

Writing Goals

I'm a teacher, and my semester starts again on August 24th, so my main goal is to get a TON of writing done before classes start again. Ideally, a full 100,000 word draft of the book. I have 2,284 words so farto finish by the end of the summer, that's about 1600 words / day.

Fundraising Goals

- Sponsor for $5, and I will think fondly of you, and so will many Clarion students!

- Sponsor for $20, and I'll send you a thank you card and a couple of sexy bookmarks featuring Kimsriyalani, the cat-like computer programmer who helped save the day in The Stars Change. Art by Lee Moyer.

- Sponsor for $100, and I'll read your short story (up to 10,000 words) and send back a one-page critique before the end of the summer.

- Sponsor for $500, and you get naming rights for a character in the book! (Name must be vaguely plausible for my universe.)"
