I believe that iris is Queen of May, appropriately enough named. I'm hoping to have some time to get in the garden and neaten it up a bit -- all my travel has left everything looking both lush and unkempt. Which is better than parched and scraggly (last year), so I'm not really complaining. Thank you, rain.
My favorite allium has just started to open, bulgaricum -- it's hard to photograph well, since the most dramatic view of its lovely colors is from underneath, but you get a hint of it. Why do I like flowers that you have to basically crawl to appreciate properly? I don't know, but there it is. Want to add some schubertii alliums next year I think -- I could use some fireworks in my garden.
