[pretend I posted this last night]

At 4 p.m., I decided I had been sufficiently academically diligent for the day, and went to swim some laps in the pool; that's somewhat challenging in a really weirdly shaped pool, but still fun. Esp. with the sun above, and the palm trees surrounding the pool. I wanted to take a photo for you, but my phone would not survive immersion in water.

After swimming and chatting and yes, a strawberry daiquiri, I found myself scooped up by Marco Palmieri and taken along to a lovely dinner at Bonefish, along with a dozen other writers. The seafood chowder is delish, with just enough spice to make it interesting. Great conversation, followed by coming back to more great conversation a) in the hot tub, b) poolside, c) in the lobby.

I think I can feel the knots in my back starting to unkink. I feel reasonably proud that I made it to 10:30, but oh, I am crashing now. Am off to bed, tucked in with David J. Schwartz's _Gooseberry Bluff Community College of Magic_, which I am enjoying immensely.
