Had a terrific day, but…

Had a terrific day, but the party's over, everyone's gone home, the children are asleep, and I am sad. I miss my dog, people. The kennel Ellie's staying at for this coming week when we're away doesn't do drop-offs on Sunday, so I had to drop her off earlier today. It just feels wrong to not have her here, sleeping at the foot of the bed. I know she's warm and safe and will getting a lot more playing and exercise than she does with us, lazy bums that we are. She'll be fine. But I miss her.
