I am having a really…

I am having a really hard time motivating to read the last hundred pages of _A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius_. I don't usually give up on books when I'm this far into them, but so far today, I've watched a ton of dumb sit-coms (including, god help me, _Trophy Wife_ (what can I say, I adore the lead actor from his stint on _West Wing_)), made jelly, made costumes, raked leaves, and even mowed the lawn -- all while that book was just sitting there, looking at me with its pathetic unread pages. If I just give up and give it away, will I be missing anything? Does it actually get to anything interesting at the end? Can I just move on to Swati Avasthi's _Chasing Shadows_ instead, which is the next book on my to-read list and which is looking infinitely more seductive?
