I recommend this 7-minute film on women's experiences after the war in Sri Lanka to anyone interested in women's issues in the developing world, and of course, to anyone interested in Sri Lanka. It's a non-partisan view, though the focus is primarily on Tamil women from the battleground areas. I have just enough Tamil that I could get the gist of what they were saying without the subtitles, just enough to remind me that if circumstances had been just a little different -- if my dad hadn't been a doctor, if we hadn't had the financial resources to leave in '73 -- I could have so easily been one of these women.
