Revising my opening…

Revising my opening remarks for the panel I'm chairing this morning. Am not quite sure which direction to go in -- one version of the intro references Derrida, Spivak, and Benedict Anderson -- the other is theory-free. I'd sort of like to give the panel a bit of theoretical grounding, though I don't plan the conversation to go in that direction, but I also don't want to scare people. What if they get up and leave when I say the words "Derridean post-structuralism"? That would be sad, especially since I fully plan to talk about queer sex and/or guerrilla warfare a few sentences later.
