Okay, so I signed up for…

Okay, so I signed up for the Clarion West Write-a-Thon. I was a student at Clarion West in 1997 and I loved it and it was hugely helpful for my development as a writer in both expected and unexpected ways. Also, I fell briefly in love. Or in crush, at least. That's not really relevant to this, though.

I will tell you all about why Clarion West is so awesome sometime soon (and Clarion is awesome too, and I taught there and love it as well, but in a different way. Clarion West was my first, you know? Your first is special.) Before I start rambling (start, Mary Anne?), here are a few useful facts:

You can sponsor me! Which means you send money to an awesome organization who could use the money and will put it to excellent use. And you also motivate me to finish my book! In six weeks! And they said it couldn't be done.

To sponsor a writer, pick one from the list (like me!). You can also sponsor multiple writers. Support them in meeting their goals. Donate to Clarion West whatever amount suits your budget $5/week, $10/week, $20/week or just a flat amount for the six weeks. You can either use their pages PayPal links or send checks. All the details are on the pages linked above.

That's it. You'll hear more from me on this subject. I'm 12,800 words into the book, with a goal of 60,000 words by the end of July. That's 47,000 more words. That's a lot of words. But I'm pretty sure I can do it, if the children allow.

Any questions?
