If you’re in the Oak…

If you're in the Oak Park area this Thursday, I'll be part of a group reading (going first), and will be providing my famous cucumber sandwiches. :-) (They're just regular cucumber sandwiches, but they are very popular in local circles. It's almost as if Midwest folks don't have high tea on a regular basis. Do you think they may not know the joys of strawberry jam, clotted cream and scones? Tragic.)

"The Oak Park Writers Group will present its 5th formal public reading event this coming Thursday, November 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the Veterans Room of the Oak Park Library, 834 Lake Street, Oak Park. In addition to the reading of selected pieces of original prose and poetry, there will also be an awards ceremony honoring the winners of the OPWG High School Original Prose and Poetry Competition for 2011. Admission is free and complimentary refreshments will be available."
