Took advantage of an…

Took advantage of an unseasonably beautiful day to do some more work on exterior colors. We've decided on Downpour Blue for the body color, Blackberry Wine for the triangles at the top, probably Darkest Grape and Violet Stone for two of the trim colors. Now we need to find one or two more -- ideally a pink / magenta, and a green. Green is driving me crazy, but I think we've made some progress on the pinks.

I'd ask your opinion, but screen colors are so far from colors on the house, and the differences between the pinks is so subtle, it seems sort of silly.

  1. Wow…. Lollipop colors. Since color choices are such personal things I won’t say anything.
I do want to point out that paint should not be applied at a temperature less than 40 deg. F. Also the surface should be free of frost and condensation. For new siding there should be three coats: primer and two layers top coat. I am not impressed with the new “one coat” paints. I’ve used them in our kitchen remodel and they appear softer and susceptible to scratches. The thickness appears to result from a fine air bubble matrix. IMHO.

Heh — if you think this is lollipop, you should have seen our original choices. Much brighter. 🙂

I think they’ve decided to wait to paint ’til spring. Which means we’re probably going to be moving into an unpainted house, which is a little frustrating, but I guess that’s the way it has to be. Ah well.
