I have to say, looking…

I have to say, looking at all the wedding photos that are coming in, that while there are still quite a few photos that make it clear that I could stand to whittle down my stomach, I am mostly reasonably content with how I look. And I am so glad that I made the effort to lose some weight in July. It ended up being 18 pounds, which a week of regular eating later, seem to be staying off; we'll see if it sticks. Right now, all the Anand baby weight is gone, and I've gotten somewhat through the Kavya weight. I feel much more like myself, and also have more energy.

I wish I'd lost the weight sooner, of course, but I'm honestly not sure I could have -- things have been so crazy for the last few years between having the babies and starting at UIC and moving and all. I think it took finally having a relatively quiet stretch, as well as not working, to let me have sufficient mental space to concentrate on the effort to lose weight.

Anyway, enough about how I look; I'm really absolutely sick of the diet talk, at the same time that I feel like I have to document it, for myself or anyone else struggling with weight issues. Argh.

Here's an adorable photo of someone else -- I'm guessing this was taken by my second cousin Rozanne, since it's a photo of her husband Mark and their super-cute daughter, Anjali (Kavi's third cousin, if I'm calculating right). They had a tough time getting a baby of their own, so I'm doubly pleased that they produced such a gorgeous one. And her outfit!

They are, actually! The body is weird. 🙂

I think all the hauling baby/toddler around we did the week of the wedding also helped; we ate normally (not dieting), even with some desserts, but got a fair bit more exercise than normal. I think that helped tighten everything up.

  2. You look great, being healthy, happy and feeling good about yourself is the way to go. Just remember that if you still have fibroids they will affect your ability to whittle down your stomach and so don’t get frustrated with yourself if you feel like all the work isn’t giving you the results you want.

Nova, I hadn’t even thought of that! I do still have fibroids, including at least one quite large one. Will try to keep them in mind, but I do have quite a bit of belly fat cushioning them right now. 🙂
