I’m supposed to be…

I'm supposed to be keeping a design diary, and to that end, have marked up at least two hundred images from various books I own. Everything from countertops to furniture to paint colors to kitchen layouts, etc. and so on. Ideally, these would all be in one big binder, so easy to show contractor/architect/etc., rather than making them page through thousands of pages in dozens of heavy books.

I had thought about taking photos of each image and uploading them to a web page, so I could also show them easily to y'all, probably divided up room by room. But that seems like a lot of work, and I'm not sure how well the images would come out. Plus, copyright problems with putting them online. And do I attribute them or not? And I don't know if y'all actually care about my design thoughts anyway.

Would it be easier to just cut the images out of the books? It feels morally wrong, somehow, cutting up books, even though I own them. :-(

Not sure what to do. Have been waffling about this for a week.

  1. Scan & color prints? Not sure what kind of printer you have, so this may not work very well if you’d have to go out of the house to do it. I wince at the thought of cutting up books!

Our scanner is broken, and we don’t have a color printer, sadly. I thought of printing at Kinko’s, but it’s too expensive…
