Yesterday was shopping…

Yesterday was shopping for household stuff with Jed (I have an unreasonable passion for Bed, Bath and Beyond), followed by Spiderman 2, fun. I love the 50's (? not sure of the era) feel of it -- everything so clean-cut and essentially kindly. Watching these feels like reading a James White Sector General novel. The real struggle is against one's own weakness, not against any actual evil. In fact, there is no evil -- only a pathetic (if dangerous) madness.

Today, it's a sunny day in Jed's guest room, with music playing and a sturdy fan going. Curry for breakfast, now on my second mug of tea, and it's time to get to work. Oh, so much backlogged e-mail. I don't know how this happens.

Cliff sent me back a quote, to accompany the one I posted the other day. It's a good one that I think I read once in high school but which feels oh, so much more useful now:

Amusingly, when Cliff said it, I was thinking about it in the context of writing, but I can see now that it applies equally well to romantic relationships. :-)
