Lovely in mid-July, will take over your whole yard if you let it, but at least it’s easy to pull. Locals, if you want to come by and dig some up, let me know.

Finally harvested some elderflowers to make syrup. Followed the recipe from SpruceEats: https://www.thespruceeats.com/elderflower-syrup-recipe… It’ll be ready in 3-5 days, so we’ll have to check back to see how it tastes.

My one shrub puts out so many blooms, I’ve filled multiple vases with them (mostly trimming ones that were almost on the ground), and the shrub still looks full. I love white flowers in summer — there’s something cooling about them.

Yes, Arya, I KNOW that the burdock is getting big and out-of-control; I will get to it. And then it will come back next year, because unless I solarize that whole area, that is what burdock just does. Maybe I should learn to eat the root — it’s apparently an edible delicacy.

I was having a little difficulty motivating to go plant the berries I’d ordered, but I poured myself a glass of Sunday evening white wine and went to do it. Twenty minutes later, I’d harvested another handful of raspberries, saving some for Kevin and plopping some in my wine, and also planted: – 3 marionberries
