Feast at Jake’s Place!

Feast at Jake’s Place! Currently the EXCLUSIVE brick and mortar distributor for the cookbook! (Hoping to ship Kickstarter editions within a week or so; just finishing up a few of the extras.) You know, I don’t think there are any Sri Lankan restaurants in the Midwest? So locals, if you don’t have Sri Lankan friends to cook for you, you might just have to pick up the cookbook and try it yourself…

Missed the party? Stop by and support a new bookstore (LGBT-owned!) — they have a particularly great theatre section, and they give away free picture books to kids! How pleasant it is to browse through a bookstore — a perfect date activity, but just as good for the solitary reader! Remember how great it was, that Oak Park had so many of them? Now that we have three bookstores again, let’s make sure they all stay in business…

I’m really grateful to the owners and their friends for the lovely local kick-off event, and impressed with all the food they cooked from the cookbook! Delicious, and Bill is right — seitan works GREAT in the liver curry recipe. I’m so looking forward to seeing the individual spins that people put on my recipes.

The next two local events will require tickets, so be sure to get them if you plan to attend!
