Yesterday, I found…

Yesterday, I found myself waking up at 2 a.m., 5 a.m., 8 a.m. -- just before each scheduled feeding, even though my sister's newborn babies hadn't started fussing yet and even though I wasn't even doing the 2 a.m. feeding. My brain just adapted to expecting to be woken then, and at 5 and 8, I took a baby and helped with feeding.

But then last night, I woke up for a completely different reason around 1 a.m. (writing dream), and was up for a while -- and then happily slept through until 7 a.m., leaving those morning feedings to the parents. So apparently the twins haven't completely succeeded in programming me to their schedule.

Which is all a long-winded way of saying other peoples' babies are the best. Because you have the option of walking away (or at least sleeping) when you need to. :-)
