Am re-reading…

Am re-reading Wollstonecraft's Vindication of the Rights of Man, which I haven't looked at in some time, and wow. I'd forgotten how very snarky she is. The first several paragraphs are just tearing at Edmund Burke's character, and while I'm not saying he didn't deserve it -- well, I'm just imagining what public discourse would be like if writers and politicians felt free to start their argumentative pieces with extended personal attacks.
