I’m looking for a SF/F…

I'm looking for a SF/F small press-interested volunteer. I could use a couple actually, but I'll start with one in particular. You know I run the SLF, right? We have this thing called the small press co-op.

When we started the SLF, we thought it could be a pretty active sort of thing, and useful. But soon after I started the SLF, I had babies, which completely overwhelmed me, and the co-op sort of fell by the wayside for a while. I'll like to get it up and going again, to do things like:

a) coordinate small presses sharing expensive tables at places like WorldCon (this is the one thing that we still did, a bit, during the last few years, and I've personally found it very useful)

b) sharing information on a joint mailing list (like, who has some ISBN's to share or sell, or where can you get the best deal on promotional postcards)

c) keep our co-op list updated (and maybe make a badge for members to display on their websites, so they could link to each other and cross-promote)

And maybe other things in the future, but those are the first three things. Ideally, I'd like to have 2-3 volunteers to serve as SLF Small Press Co-op Coordinators, and I'm asking for a commitment of at least a year to start. Obviously, no pay, but a) it's good service to the field, and b) you can put it on your resume or c.v. :-) And if you're running a small press yourself, and want to share table space at a convention, for example, we could waive the small shared fee that you'd normally pay.

Drop me a line at mohanraj@mamohanraj.com if you're interested, with the header SLF Small Press Co-op, and with a brief bio and/or note about why you're interested. Thanks!

  1. You might want to check at the unvversity – that sounds like a great internship opp. English majors maybe? Even a grad student.
