Last night, I went to…

Last night, I went to dinner with Ken Hite and Manish Shah, and then on to a seriously hip launch party for Wesley Chu's first SF novel, The Lives of Tao. Had an awesome time with Mary Robinette Kowal, Holly McDowell, Lynne Marie Thomas, Michael Damian Thomas, and a variety of other super-cool kids. I'm looking forward to actually reading the book soon -- I heard Wes read from it at our joint reading at Open Books, and the part he read was really funny and fun. Check it out!

I can't believe I forgot to take photos of the stacks of books. But here is the charming (and ultimately delicious) book cake.

Wesley Chu, looking suave; Mary Anne Mohanraj, looking goofy. Goofy but happy.

Nice tagline. I feel like I wrote a speech along those lines, but my version took twenty minutes, and his is just eight words.

Holly McDowell, me, Dustin Monk.

The room was packed and the snacks were plentiful!

Me + Mary Robinette Kowal. TLA.

View from the balcony. I just thought this was cool.
