Sorry for the last…

Sorry for the last minute announcement, but if anyone's on the north side of Chicago and free at 2:30, I'm giving a talk at Truman College, part of the One Book, One Truman program. The library tells me that they gave away 120 copies of Bodies in Motion as part of the program, and several classes were assigned it too. Very cool!

I'll just be talking about how I came to writing, sex, parents, intergenerational tension, interracial relationships, etc. -- stuff of general interest to college students. Stuff you all already know, but this time, they come with free samosas and sweets, because the folks at the Cosgrove Library are fabulous. :-)

MEET THE AUTHOR: MARY ANNE MOHANRAJ
Wednesday, March 3, at 2:30 p.m. in the Library, 1145 W. Wilson Ave.

Mary Anne Mohanraj is the author of Bodies in Motion, this year's selection for the One Book, One Truman reading program. Bodies in Motion follows the inner lives of parents and children in two Sri Lankan immigrant families. Publisher's Weekly has called it "a moving portrait of families searching for love and a place to call home." Ms. Mohanraj will discuss her life as an author and the book's theme of intergenerational struggle with tradition and modernity. Please join us for this special event.

Now I just have to figure out what to wear. (Also, grade 23 papers, but I'm guessing I won't finish that before I have to leave. Grading on the train? (It's an hour there and an hour back) Fun...)
