I wrote a book! I’m a…

I wrote a book! I'm a little stunned. I've just completed the last round of revisions on my Sri Lankan travelogue/memoir, Arbitrary Passions, and I think it's relatively finished. In a few weeks, I plan to start sending it out, hoping to find a publisher.

I've already had several great readers who kindly looked at earlier drafts, but I would really love at this stage to have feedback specifically from Sri Lankans (either locals or expatriates) or others familiar with Sri Lanka. Although responses from others are also very welcome. (Hello, I'm Mary Anne, and I am a critique addict...)

So to that end, if you have time in the next two weeks (basically, by the end of April) to read the entire book (currently standing at around 58,000 words, or just under 200 pages) and offer your thoughts on the book as a whole, I'd love to hear them. They'd be tremendously useful in getting the book ready to send out to publishers. Please drop me a line if you're interested in taking a look. No obligation to finish, of course, if it turns out not to be your cup of tea.

I can't quite believe it's done, only about oh, four years after I started it...
