  2. I didn’t know about the 50 book challenge, but as soon as I figure out what it is I will dig out my copy of Torn Shapes of Desire and re-read it.

    I haven’t been following RaceFail ’09…like you said, it takes a lot of time and I have a day job. I think the “I’m not a racist” response comes the difference between empathy and sympathy. As a white girl from the sticks I can’t know in my soul what it is like to be a person of color but when you spoke about being on a bus on Sept 11, 2001 I could feel pain because you felt threatened.

    I should have known you and Scalzi would be friends…everybody I know should know everyone else I know…
