I am so very damn behind…

I am so very damn behind on everything, I could scream. Here is my list of priorities:

  1. Kavya
  2. Teaching / prep
  3. Ellie
  4. Feeding fish
  5. Reasonably sanitary house
  6. Grading
  7. Enough sleep
  8. Maintaining decent relationship with Kevin
  9. Minimum amount of writing to stay sane (once every two weeks or so)
  10. Actually clean house
  11. Cleaning fish tank
  12. Minimal gardening (my poor neglected plants -- although on the plus side, I'm discovering which house plants never need watering)
  13. DesiLit and the SLF
  14. As much writing as I actual want to do
  15. Answering backlogged e-mail
Guess which ones I never get to?

I finally went and talked to the Internships coordinator here, who is actually four doors down from me, and there's a chance I could get an intern doing 12-15 hours a week starting in January for DesiLit and the SLF. Oh my god, that would be a relief. Cross your fingers for me.

The real question is, would I put Kavya first if I had any choice in the matter? Hmm...

  1. So, basically, you would rather have fish that are alive than a good relationship with your partner. Priorities these days…

Heh. I think my partner would agree on this one, which does seem to be key to making that work. Sometimes, keeping everyone alive around here seems a lot more challenging than it ought to be…

  3. You could hire me to be your personal assistant. I could come in for an hour or two each day and wipe of most of those items on your list, freeing you up to spend more time with Kavi and attempt a decent relationship with Kevin.

Simone, would you actually be interested? I’ve periodically thought that it might be worth getting a PA — that if I could pay someone to do some of the the tasks, I might actually have more time for money-making tasks, like, y’know, writing. 🙂 If you’re seriously interested, drop me a line and let me know what you’d charge. I’d have to look carefully at the budget to see if it’d be feasible (and I can’t imagine that it’d be worth your commuting time to come only for an hour a day, no? So it’d probably be more like 3-4 hrs once a week?) Anyway, if interested, let me know.
