We had two beautiful warm weeks, and everything started coming up spring. I was particularly thrilled to see the blooms on our little weeping cherry tree, because we were nervous that it wouldn't make it through the winter, in a pot up on the roof. A big pot, but still. And it's not as if we watered or anything over the winter (one recommendation said to bring up bags of ice and lay them around trunk so they'd melt slowly); it must have just gotten enough water from all the snow. And now it's cold again, which is unfair, and I don't know if it's going to quite finish blooming this year. But at least now I have hope for the future, which is something.
