A lot of quiet…

A lot of quiet domesticity today. I hung some trivets I bought while wandering the mall with Kirstie and baby Katie in Seattle, v. charming, see right for my favorite of the three. Here are some more, including one of the others I bought, "The Art of Tea." Looking at that page, I am sorely tempted to also buy some of the other dress ones, esp. the carrot dress and the fuschia dress, but I think I have indulged myself enough -- perhaps someone will buy them for me as a gift someday. :-) Oh, here's the artist's official website, with tile trivet gallery.

Lots of cleaning, laundry, dishes, that sort of thing. I actually made the bed, which happens, oh, once in a blue moon. Kevin and I discussed a possible home decorating project -- adding sari fabric panels to our bedroom ceiling. I think it'd look way cool, but possibly too dark, and we're not sure what we'd use to stick them up there. Tapestry tacks? Any suggestions would be welcome. We're not going to rush out and try to do this now -- too busy. Besides, it seems more like a winter project. But it's fun to contemplate.

Other than that, just churning through e-mail work. I'm sadly behind. This afternoon, I go in, meet with a student, do some paperwork on campus. Then home again, where Kevin is making us dinner. He won't tell me what it is, but it's cooking slowly on the stove in the big stewpot, and it smells grand...
