Apparently it’s picture…

Apparently it's picture day -- Ellen sent along a photo from the KGB Bar reading, with a red-eyed John Crowley in the background:

I've just arrived safely in Iowa City, having been picked up by my sister's boyfriend's sister, Katie. I'm at Sharmi's apartment now, enjoying her free wireless and my aunt's lovecake, so kindly left for me on the kitchen table. All tours should offer lovecake and free wireless. :-) I think I'm just going to spend the next two hours working; at five, I meet Sharmi and Ryan's family for a quick dinner before the reading.

I know the reading will be broadcast live on NPR, but I'm not sure if there's anything else you need to know to hear it. Except that it's at 7 p.m., CST. (No idea how that translates to other time zones, sorry!) I'll be reading "Monsoon Day", and then doing Q&A afterwards. Hope lots of you can listen! :-)

And for those of you in New York, I'm coming back, and this time, I'm bringing some more Sri Lankans with me:

September 9 - New York, The Listening Room @ Caffe Vivaldi, 32 Jones St. (off Bleecker St. near Seventh Ave.), 7:30 p.m., suggested donation $5. Performance will be a collaboration with dancer Marian Thambynayagam and cellist Varuni Tiruchelvam of Mango Tribe.

Should be exciting!

I am actually quite torn about the hair. I agree this is a really good length, and maybe I should just keep it here. But I miss playing with long hair. It’s a dilemma. 🙂
